The Pottery Studio
There is something very idyllic about children when they are being creative. The safe, non-threatening, and malleable nature of clay makes it an ideal medium for children to express and execute their personal visions. For us, as adults, we find those singularly ‘quiet,’ reflective moments add the much needed beauty in our lives.
During the last year, our small school community has been exploring various dimensions of clay. As the academic year draws to a close, we look ahead at creating a full-fledged pottery studio. By having potters wheels and a well stocked pottery workshop, we aspire to continue our journey into clay. Our objectives are simple – creating a safe space for imagination to find voice and focus on observing the minutiae that surrounds us.
Contribute towards creating a well stocked pottery studio with potter’s wheels and materials where our students can continue their journey with clay.

The Small Frames Project
Anamaiya of class 4th gets excited as soon as he sees a camera. Moshigna, class 3rd, wants to take photographs of Laalu, the school-dog. Paavani finds it amusing to see her friends through the camera lens. These three and all the other older students at VSR Montessori School are eager to see how the world looks through the eyes of camera.
The Small Frames Project is a new initiative of the school to introduce students to the world of photography. This project is an opportunity for students to capture their interests, perspectives and surroundings. During the course of this project students will be exposed to various non-technical and technical aspects of photography to help them communicate their creativity through visuals.
To this end, the Small Frames project invites you to contribute your old, functioning digital cameras and let these students notice and capture the beauty and happiness around them.
We need
– 20 digital functioning cameras with batteries and chargers
– Memory Cards
